About Owner & Consultant, Jennifer Price, MLIS

Jennifer Price launched Equity Perspectives, LLC after a 13 year career in libraries that ushered her into the realm of philanthropy.  Jennifer officially became a librarian in 2013, earning a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree from the University of South Carolina.  When offered a position to serve her home community as the Middle Georgia Regional Library's business and nonprofit serving librarian in 2017, Jennifer jumped at the chance, knowing that these organizations would reveal the overall viability of the community.

During her time at the Middle Georgia Regional Library, Jennifer developed programs and partnerships for the library's Business and Nonprofit Center (BANC).  As steward for the BANC, Jennifer supported capacity-building for Middle Georgia's charitable organizations by teaching community fundraising classes as a Candid (formerly the Foundation Center) certified trainer.  In that role, Jennifer facilitated fundraising literacy for over 300 training visits representing more than 50 exempt organizations in the area.  Prior to serving businesses and nonprofits as a public librarian, Jennifer was the Administrative Assistant for the Georgia College campus library in Milledgeville, Georgia, where she participated directly in the library's staff recruitment and professional development activities, budget management, and diversity strategic planning.

Jennifer's career in libraries not only brought her to philanthropy, but it was also her gateway to racial equity.  In 2019, Jennifer was honored by an invitation from Macon, Georgia's Freshwater Initiative to join a new Community Racial Equity training cohort.  Experts from the renowned Racial Equity Institute facilitated the cohort's initiation into a deeper understanding of systemic racism and the urgency for its elimination.  Later in 2019, Jennifer was selected to serve as the inaugural Grants Chair of the Central Georgia Empowerment Fund, the area's first Black Giving Circle.  At the Georgia College Library, Jennifer co-chaired the Diversity Leadership Team and pursued continuing education on the critical issue of inclusion in the workplace.

Standing firmly on her experience as a public librarian, Jennifer brings the core value of community advocacy to racial equity consulting.
